When the question came, the feeling was immediate, it almost felt like coming home.
Left Resurs, but came back
Sabina Callan’s career journey is anything but linear. Today, she works as a IAM Platform Manager within Identity & Access Management (IAM) at Resurs – but her path here has included leaving the company, taking on a global role elsewhere, and ultimately choosing to return.
Including her years as a consultant, Sabina has been at Resurs several times. Five years ago, she took on her first permanent role as an IT Service Manager within the platform area, responsible for the identity solution. It was also her first time not working as a consultant after many years with external clients.
– It was a big adjustment. I was used to delivering to customers who paid for my time. Suddenly, the perspective was completely different but also incredibly exciting, says Sabina.
The global role that changed her perspective
In 2023, she accepted a global IAM role at ASSA ABLOY. The position offered strategic scope and the complexity of a large organisation, but the reality didn’t fully match expectations. The role was largely advisory, with limited mandate and significant internal politics.
– I learned an incredible amount during that year, but I also learned what I truly enjoy, what I’m good at, and what kind of environment I thrive in.
Admitting the role wasn’t right was emotionally demanding, and at first felt like a personal failure.
During that time, the idea of returning to Resurs emerged. Sabina had stayed in touch with former colleagues and followed the company’s development.
– When the question came, the feeling was immediate, it almost felt like coming home.
What she missed wasn’t the scale of a global role, but the warmth, culture and sense of belonging she associated with Resurs.
Building something from the ground up
Upon returning, Sabina first became Service Manager for ServiceNow, and shortly after was given the opportunity to build an internal IAM team from scratch which was a long-held ambition.
– Being asked to build something internally, within an area I’ve worked in for almost 20 years, felt like a dream come true.
Today, the team consists of five colleagues with a shared passion for identity, access and technology. Sabina also sees Resurs as an organisation with clearer direction, stronger accountability and greater trust.
What Resurs means to Sabina
For her, Resurs is more than a workplace – it’s a warm, human environment where people care, collaborate and feel safe.
A place where things simply feel right.
